The Position

The Photography & Videography Specialist will help tell stories through photos and video. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work completely independently or collaboratively with Ideum’s designers, developers, photography/video personnel, and producers. The specialist will work directly with our museum and corporate clients, but will also help promote our unique touch table hardware and software products, and help showcase our creative exhibit work.

 We are looking for a specialist who has demonstrated experience with photography and video, and who will bring energy and a prolific approach to publishing on our social media channels. We have a large presence on Instagram, Flickr, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube and would like to grow our audiences there and in our other channels.  Experience with Photoshop and video editing software is essential. Motion graphics or other software experience is very helpful. The Photography & Videography Specialist will have an eye for detail and the ability to quickly produce attractive photographs and video. The ideal candidate should feel as comfortable in the studio as they do in the field, and have demonstrated skills throughout the process of producing high-quality videos, including storyboarding, blocking, lighting, directing talent, post-production, and dissemination. The effectiveness of the position will be measured through the quality of media gathered and the quality of the work postproduction and in publishing.


Applicants should have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in commercial photography and video demonstrated in published work
  • Experience with Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects and/or equivalent software programs
  • Knowledge and experience with cross platform video encoding 
  • Demonstrated written and excellent verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Dependability and commitment to results
  • Highly motivated, tenacious, a prolific publisher
  • Experience with product photography, a strong plus
  • Experience with lighting or film shoots, a strong plus
  • Journalism experience, a strong plus
  • Degree in photography, journalism, the arts or other related field, a plus
  • Experience with writing, a plus
  • Experience with AR, MR, VR, a plus
  • Experience with AV, a plus
  • Experience with 3D or advanced graphics, a plus
  • Knowledge of PC systems, a strong plus

Essential Functions

  • Participate in media gathering: photography and video
  • Post photos and video to various social media channels with descriptions, tags and keywords
  • Help with photography and videography for blog posts portfolio pieces
  • Work with our Creative Services group in producing videos or editing photographs for clients
  • Possible travel for projects and assignments
  • Keep track of photo releases, oversee photography and video equipment and supplies
  • Participate and organize posting to various media channels including but not limited to: YouTube, Flickr, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Vimeo, Pinterest

This is a full-time position (40 hours) on-site in Corrales, New Mexico. The position includes full health benefits (after 90 days), Dental insurance, plus long-term and short-term disability and life insurance.
